With its three large separators, the GRIMME EVO 280 is designed for high separation and throughput rates. Thanks to the completely hydraulic main web drive, it can be adapted to different harvesting conditions: Numerous settings are possible ranging from crop sensitive to intensive separation of impurities. The different versions of the MultiCrop intakes allow to switch between different crops and harvesting conditions within a very short time. The mechanical quick-change system is complemented by a standardised interface for hydraulics, electronics and electrics. The telescopic axle ensures a safe road transport with a machine width of only 3.00 m on the one hand. On the other hand, it ensures maximum driving stability in the field as the axle can be extended by an impressive 500 mm. The machine's versatility of use and stability of value are positively influenced by its modular design. This applies in particular to the intake, the new swing frame, the third separator and the picking table.

MultiCrop-intake
The MultiCrop intake enables adaptation to different crops or harvesting conditions in less than five minutes. The desired harvesting attachment (intake-version) is coupled mechanically, electrically and hydraulically without tools using a standardised interface. The harvesting attachment is displayed appropriately on the GRIMME digital interface (GDI) by means of a simple selection and can be operated intuitively. The depth-guiding in a parallelogram ensures optimum decoupling between the machine and the intake. Together with the flexible main web channel, the intake follows the ground as closely as possible, even on uneven terrain.
Intakes to harvest ridges, beds or windrowed crop
The EVO 280 MultiCrop can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of operating conditions and crops. A wide range of interchangeable intake systems is available for this purpose, which can be swapped out in a matter of minutes depending on the soil type, crop and harvesting method.
The specified intake for ridges or beds is ideal for the direct harvesting of root crops grown in these cultivation systems – such as potatoes, carrots or celeriac. For regions where crops are harvested in a windrowing process, the windrow intake offers the ideal solution, e.g. for onions or potatoes.
Depending on the intended use, all intake-models can be fitted with different pick-up and feed elements, tine types and disc combinations. This allows the EVO 280 MultiCrop to be precisely tailored to the specific soil conditions, crops and regional harvesting methods.
Wide range of disc coulters
The disc coulters of the EVO 280 have been designed with a larger diameter, which results in an even better cutting and rolling effect. Each disc coulter is mounted on a single bracket and can be individually adjusted in height and distance to the main web and share.

- The configuration of the machine with two outer disc coulters is suitable for harvesting beds or ridges. They are also useful to guide additional (light) soil into the machine to promote crop protection.
- Four disc coulters – optionally hydraulically driven – are particularly suitable for single-ridge cultivation and reduce soil adhesion even under difficult conditions.
- Hydraulic drives improve crop flow and ensure the discs rotate, particularly when dealing with sticky soils or intakes without diabolo rollers.
- Six disc coulters – which can also be hydraulically driven – are ideal for harvesting three rows from a bed, particularly when growing carrots.
Transport cradle
A transport frame, available with or without lighting, is available for the independent transport of the intake-unit without the EVO 280, designed to be attached to the tractor’s rear hydraulics. This ensures both easy handling on the farm and safe transport on the road.
